Double or triple roll-up map systems were popular in schools and educational settings, especially in the mid-20th century, for teaching geography and history. These systems featured two or three large, retractable maps mounted vertically, one above the other, on a sturdy roller mechanism.
Each map could be pulled down individually and displayed by securing it in place, and then rolled back up when not in use. Often, these systems included different maps—such as a world map, a regional map, and a historical map—making it easy for teachers to switch between subjects quickly. The durable, space-saving design allowed for clear visual presentations and efficient classroom management.
